Ever wondered how it would feel to make something out of wood?
Savour a slow Saturday morning of woodcarving with Everyday Canoe,
sipping fresh hand brewed coffee by Usually Usual in this 2.5hr workshop.
You will be guided on how a piece of salvaged wood can be given a wonderful second life,
through the magic of patience, time and good ol’ working with your very own hands!
Participants will leave with their very own handcarved wooden scoop finished with a
natural foodsafe coating, ready for dishing out coffee beans or tea leaves.
What you will get during this workshop:
• Learn about handbrewed coffee demonstrated by Chloe
and enjoy a cup of fresh coffee before we start carving
• Participants leave with a handcarved wooden scoop of their own
• A kit to take care and maintain the wooden scoop
• Printed guide of steps to carving

Sounds of hot water boiling and the smells of coffee soon filled our little treehouse space when Chloe from Usually Usual started preparing hand-brewed coffee for everyone.
Pouring coffee into very cute and colorful ceramic drinking vessels (all of which are hand made by Chloe) for all the participants.
Part 2 of the workshop – hand carving wooden spoons!
Everyone focused on getting the shape of the spoons right!
Side view of a spoon half way through the work gouge! Excited to see the mouth of a spoon taking shape during the workshop!
Loving the smell of the wooden spoons even more after oiling with lemon oil and coating with bees wax.
Success – Happy people with their very own hand carved spoons!
After 3 hours of carving, sanding and oiling. Everyone’s hand carved scoop looks different! 😀 We really did enjoy this class, it totally reminded us of how nice it was to take a step back from the hustle & bustle of the digital world and to use our own bare hands to create things. It’s something we don’t do that often these days – to soak up good company amongst people & to embrace ‘slower’ living.
Each participant gets to take home their own carved spoons housed in an Everyday Canoe box, packed with wood oil for maximized spoon care, and a “dröm class – Happy Graduation” badge after the class!
